What is a Hip Harness Sleeping Bag?

Our range of Hip Harness Sleeping Bags are for babies who wear a brace to treat Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. The extra-wide pouch is designed to fit over a range of different DDH braces and harnesses, so your child can continue to sleep safely and warmly, without the need for additional blankets in their sleeping environment.

Please note: The Grey Marle Hip Harness Pouch is from our previous range and runs slightly larger than the updated Oatmeal Marle, released in August 2023. The new design offers a snugglier, more comfortable fit based on feedback from the Hip Dysplasia Institute and parents. Both versions remain suitable for their intended age range.

Materials & Care

Materials

95% Organic Cotton / 5% Elastane

The Sleeping Bag is made from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton that is non-toxic and gentle on irritable skin. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water based dyes. ergoPouch Sleeping Bags are reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA) as a skin-friendly product.


Care

How to wash and dry your Sleeping Bag

  • Gentle cold machine wash in mild detergent
  • Do not soak or bleach
  • Tumble dry low
  • Warm iron if required
  • Do not dry clean

When cared for properly, this product will last several years and can be used for more than one baby. Our TOGs don't lose their warmth ratings over time, but a gentle fluff up in the dryer on a low setting helps maintain the fibre's loft, allowing air to circulate more effectively.

The Hip Harness Jersey Sleeping Bag meets all safety standards in Australia and New Zealand.
Ensure you buy the correct size for your baby's weight, to prevent the Sleeping Bag from riding up around your baby's face.
Not suitable for use in a 5 point car seat or pram harness.

International Hip Dysplasia Institute Approved

The extra wide bell-shaped bottom is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as being hip-healthy and comfortably fits over a Pavlik Harness, Denis Browne Brace and Rhino Brace.
