What is a Hip Harness Cocoon Swaddle Bag?

Our range of Hip Harness Swaddles are for babies who wear a brace to treat Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. The extra-wide pouch is designed to fit over a range of different DDH braces and harnesses, so your child can continue to sleep safely and warmly, without the need for additional blankets in their sleeping environment.

Materials & Care

Materials

Outer: 95% Organic Cotton / 5% Elastane
Inner: 95% Bamboo Viscose / 5% Elastane
Filling: 100% Organic Cotton

The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is made from and filled with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton that is non-toxic and gentle on sensitive and/or irritable skin. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water based dyes. The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA) as a skin-friendly product.


Care

How to wash and dry your Cocoon Swaddle Bag

  • Gentle cold machine wash in mild detergent
  • Do not soak or bleach
  • Tumble dry low
  • Warm iron if required
  • Do not dry clean

When cared for properly, this product will last several years and can be used for more than one baby. Our TOGs don't lose their warmth ratings over time, but a gentle fluff up in the dryer on a low setting helps maintain the fibre's loft, allowing air to circulate more effectively.

- May be worn with pyjamas underneath
- Garment is meant to be firm-fitting around the torso, and extra-wide around the hips and legs to accomodate a brace

The Hip Harness Cocoon Swaddle Bag meets all safety standards in Australia and New Zealand.
Ensure you buy the correct size for your baby's weight, to prevent the Cocoon Swaddle Bag from riding up around your baby's face. See our Size Guide for more information.
Not suitable for use in a 5 point car seat or pram harness.

Why are there no hip harness cocoon swaddles for 0-3M age range?

Although it can happen, it is our understanding that the diagnosis and treatment for Development Dysplasia of the Hip is not common for babies under 3 months. Due to this, our Hip Harness Cocoons and Sleeping Bags start from 3 months plus. If you have a baby younger than 3 months who fits the size requirements for the 3-6m size, it is OK to use that size.
